The Safari Zone is simultaneously an adventure park and a nature reserve. It's designed with the intention to be just an adventure park where you can explore through thirteen different zones and capture Pokemon with bait and... rocks for some reason. I woke up at the crack of dawn and bought the day pass so I could access six of the thirteen zones.
I didn't really plan to catch anything so I didn't bother with any of the guides to help me decide what to hunt for. I just got in the cable car and went off. Because I couldn't bring my Pokemon in, not much happened in between Pokemon.
Firstly, I went to the Plains, where I caught a Galarian Zigzagoon. Not much happened there.
Then I went to the Wetland and tried to throw a rock at the Ducklett but it ran away immediately after, practically crying and squawking. I wasn't entirely comfortable with throwing rocks at the Pokemon after that so I immediately left the Wetlands.
I then went to the Meadow where I saw a Cherubi. I offered it bait and caught it without incident. Thankfully, it's male so I can use it to help Emporio breed a hidden ability Shiinotic.
By then it was about evening time. I had a small meal before I took the cable car to the Rocky Beach to enjoy the sunset. There, I saw a Kingler who didn't seem interested in bait. It attacked me so I quickly got over my rock-related reservations and pelted it with rocks to help it get into a ball.
Then I went to the Savannah but missed out on catching a Bunnelby. It ran away after the first ball. Fortunately, my luck changed immediately and when I went to the Mountain I immediately caught a Dusclops.
They don't have warps here back to Cianwood from the Safari Zone so I'm going to spend the night here. It's going to be a pain walking back but I have a lot of new Pokemon that'll be useful for both breeding and fighting with, so it's worth it.
October 12 Finally back at Cianwood City. Hopefully my next location won't take me to somewhere mountainous. I'm sick of hiking already. It's nice but it's no ocean.
I decided to warp to Olivine and then Ecruteak. Even though two warps isn't enough to make me sick, I've chosen to rest for the rest of the day. I may take the time to shuffle my Pokemon around and train up some lower level ones. I don't plan on doing more gyms until next year but now is the time to train up some of my less used Pokemon.
October 13 In order to meet up with Emporio, I decided to walk to Violet City along Route 37. I had Leona out of her Pokeball with me, since she looked like she needed some fresh air. It was pretty peaceful right up until we encountered a Hawlucha. It was rather large and looked buff but Leona looked ready to fight it despite having the type disadvantage.
I think it was more out of luck than my own skill but the Hawlucha missed its attacks and Leona got some solid hits on it, allowing us to take it down. Regardless, the experience must have been good because she evolved into a Pyroar.
She seems quite pleased with development. She started running around before she insisted for me to get on her back. Must have been eager to use her new strength and energy. Guess I have a new ride Pokemon now, one that's warmer and not as hard as Kosugi. Not that I'm complaining.
October 15 Notebook got destroyed in the Ruins of Alph today. Don't have a lot of paper left. Going to write bullet points for my journal until I can rewrite them. If I can even be bothered to. - Went to Route 36 and entered the Ruins of Alph - Went to investigate Ruins - Got attacked by a sword. Caught the Honedge and named it Jian after the symbols on it. - Spent two days looking around and travelling on Route 36.
October 17 - Arrived on Route 32 - Encountered an Espurr. - Long route. Doing training today.
October 21 - Entered the Union cave - Only encountered Wooper in this cave - Caves was dark and wet.
October 23 - Arrived on Route 33 - Had a look at Slowpoke Well but didn't go in. - Got attacked by a Rookidee but shooed it off
October 24 - Entered Azalea Town and helped a Charcadet get back to the Illex Forest. - Hung around waiting for Emporio. - Traded Pokemon out from Pokemon Centre
October 25 - Met up with Emporio today - Traded Harvest the Basculin for Slugger the Slowking - Put Pause back in the PC so I wouldn't get Slowpoke eggs - Decided to meet up back at Goldenrod for Halloween - Spent the rest of day with Emporio
October 26 - Entered Illex Forest - Got severely lost for five fucking days. - There's a small shrine in the forest? Nothing of note around. Peacef - Caught a Tangrowth. Named her Love Deluxe because Tangrowth reminds me of Yukako - Does not have Yukako's temperament.
October 29 - Finally out of the fucking Forest - More Jigglypuff around. Probably need to train Sadao up
October 31 - Arrived for Halloween in Goldenrod City - Helped Beetlejuice with a Duskull possessing him - Got decked in the face by a Dusknoir - Fucking weird night.
November 1 - Used warps to get to Olivine City to meet up with Emporio - Made a plan to explore the rest of Johto - Started trip along Route 39
November 7 - Travel uneventful. - Arrived at Route 38.
November 10 - Travel uneventful - Arrived at Route R37
November 13 - Travel really uneventful - Arrived at R36
November 16 - Travel uneventful. - Taking the week to go down R31 and R30. - Emporio is a good kid. Going to keep helping him with his gym when we get back.
November 23 - Arrived at R29. Almost done the journey
November 26 - Arrived at R36. Almost nostalgic to be back here.
December 1 - Arrived at New Bark Town - Construction and planning continues for Emporio's gym.
December 5 - Borrowed the Shiinotic from the JKBA to breed for Emporio.
December 6 - Drupe and Shiinotic was bred. Got Eggs immediately???? - Started breeding Crush and Yoh. Got eggs. Will hatch then breed offspring to get Emporio his HA Wiglett.
December 6 - Helping Emporio set up the gym
December 25 - Christmas. Emporio and Jolyne really liked their presents :)
December 31 I took the time to reflect today and I've decided not to keep a journal for next year. Maybe I'll reconsider and write what's been happening out in dot points but I'm really tired. I thought I was getting better but I just feel like I'm drifting at the moment.
I've been dreaming about that day again.
But Jolyne is fine. She is fine and that's all that matters. But I don't think our relationship is going to get any closer. Carly is a good girl though, they'll take care of each other. Emporio is also going to be just fine. He's going to be so busy now his gym has been built and all of his survival classes are started. I'll keep an eye on him but if I disappear, it'll be okay.
I'm not sure what's going to come next for me. Maybe something, maybe nothing. Maybe more gym battles. Maybe more research. But I'm not sure anymore. Travelling hasn't worked. Talking hasn't worked. I don't think anything's really working. Maybe it never did. I feel like I've been dead for a long time.
