Jotaro originally wanted to name the hermit crab after Hermit Purple, after his grandfather's stand. However, he then decided to just name it after his grandfather, and rightly so. Joseph (aka Joe) is a cheeky clown who loves to play practical jokes. He is also impulsive and playful, and likes getting himself into trouble. Jotaro wonders if he guessed Joe's personality correctly or if his grandfather's spirit possessed the poor crab when he named it.
